Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
To apply online for Group D posts under the Indian Railways, a candidate must have passed the Class 10 or 12 Exam from a recognised board and ITI certificate approved by the National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT) or State Council for Vocational Training (SCVT) are also eligible.
Age Limit
The Minimum age limit for the RRB Group D is 18 years and the candidates should not be older than 33 years. There is also age relaxation as per the government rules.
- For OBC – candidates are given a relaxation of 3 years, making their upper age limit 36 years.
- For SC/ST – candidates are given a relaxation of 5 years, raising their upper age limit to 38 years.

Application Fee
The Application fee to apply for the RRB Group D is ₹ 500 for the General and OBC categories. The Fee is also set at ₹250 for SC/ST categories. Candidates must pay the fee online using a credit or debit card and other payment methods.
Selection Process
The selection process for RRB Group D consists of several stages such as:
Computer-Based Test (CBT): It is the first stage of the selection process. There will be objective-type questions in the computer-based test. It includes questions from General Science, Mathematics, General Intelligence & Reasoning, and General Awareness & Current Affairs.
Physical Efficiency Test (PET): Those candidates who qualify for the written test are eligible for the PET test.
Document Verification: It is the third stage of the selection process for RRB posts. Candidates must show their original documents such as qualification certificates, Birth certificates and other important proofs in this process.
Medical Exam: It is the last process. It determines the candidates’ fitness for the RRB Group D post.
