What Was LifeLabs Breach?
LifeLabs revealed a data breach in December 2019, impacting 15 million customers, with most from Ontario and British Columbia. They paid hackers a ransom, though the amount wasn’t disclosed. LifeLabs apologized and vowed to enhance security. As of June 2020, no customer data has been leaked. Ontario and B.C. privacy commissioners concluded that LifeLabs didn’t protect health information properly, becoming publicly known.

- Click on the “Submit a Claim” button.
- Fill in your first name, last name, email address, and phone number.
- Enter your provincial health card number.
- Choose your payment method from the drop-down menu.
- If you pick e-transfer, enter your email; for a cheque, input your mailing address.
- Read and agree to the Declaration and Consent section.
- Click “Submit” to finish.
- Finally, You’re now ready to claim your settlement.

When will your money be sent to you?
Once the claim period is over, class members can expect to start getting their payments.
You have two options for receiving your payment: through Interac e-transfer or by cheque. Remember, there will be a $2 processing fee deducted if you choose the check option.
