Canada LifeLabs Class Action Settlement: Know who are eligible for claim payment

Hey there! If you’re in Canada and used LifeLabs’ medical services before December 17, 2019, there’s some potentially good news for you! LifeLabs settled a big lawsuit for $9.8 million. If you were affected by the 2019 LifeLabs cyberattack, you might qualify to receive up to $150 from a $9.8 million settlement. Hackers stole personal health information from around 8.6 million people in the cyberattack on LifeLabs’ customer database.

During that cyberattack, a bunch of sensitive information got compromised, like health card numbers, names, emails, logins, passwords, birth dates, and even some medical test results.

The Ontario Superior Court of Justice approved a settlement, and individuals who submit a valid claim by the deadline of April 6, 2024, could get between $50 and $150. Remember that they’ll deduct taxes and any legal fees first. The more people who apply, the less each person might receive, but it’s still a good opportunity!

So, if you believe you meet the criteria, you can fill out a claim form and avail of LifeLabs settlement payment. Here further in this article, we provide all related details regarding LifeLabs class-action settlement like the application process, eligibility and more.
