The Tier 1 examination is a crucial step in the recruitment process aimed at filling 995 vacancies for the position of Assistant Central Intelligence Officer (ACIO) (Grade II)/ Executive in the Intelligence Bureau. The Intelligence Bureau issued a notification for these vacancies in November 2023, urging eligible candidates to apply by 15th December.
To qualify for the post, candidates needed to hold a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university or its equivalent, along with proficiency in computers.
Intelligence Bureau ACIO/Grade II Executive Exam
The exam took place in January and checked candidates’ understanding in general awareness, reasoning, quantitative aptitude, and English language. It was a computer-based test (CBT) lasting 1 hour and 40 minutes, with a total score of 100 marks, giving 1 mark for each correct answer.
Conducted at different centers nationwide, the exam aimed to provide equal chances to all. Additionally, there was a descriptive paper worth 50 marks, assessing candidates’ writing skills and analytical thinking.
IB ACIO Grade 2 Merit List
If your name is on the merit list, you can move ahead in the selection process. This list is posted on the Ministry of Home Affairs website. The merit list depends on how well you did in the exam. Those who scored higher than the cut-off marks and ranked well are listed. There are separate rankings for different categories like General, OBC, SC, ST, and EWS. This is to make sure everyone gets a fair chance.
